Since 2008, Byredo has approached perfumery with a spare, modern sensibility, pairing woody, sweet, and powdery accords with an artful, unfussy hand. Across its catalogue, from 2008 to 2025, the house keeps a remarkably consistent identity.
The starting point, and still the favorite, is Gypsy Water, a free-spirited woody scent that evokes travel and open air. La Tulipe shows the brand's floral, springlike side, while Bibliothèque brings a soft, fruity, almost literary signature.
On the warmer end, Rose Of No Man's Land renders rose with restraint, and Black Saffron turns leathery and spiced. Pulp, one of the earliest releases, still bursts with ripe fruit. Together they capture why Byredo reads as quietly distinctive rather than loud.
